The Paws at Home Pet Care Team includes vet nurses, vet nurse students, and a team of people who simply love animals.
Our team considers your pets our family and cares for them as carefully and diligently as you do. The Paws at Home team covers Hamilton (including Cambridge, Te Awamutu and surrounding areas) and the Taranaki region.
Our team is made up of skilled, wonderful people with a heart for animals, many of whom have vet nurse or animal certification. This allows us to administer medication and special care.
From your first day as part of our Paws at Home family, we guarantee your pets will have a world-class experience.
Jan Rose - Chief Paw
Jan has been in the accounting and software industry for longer than she cares to remember, so it was a delightful surprise when she realized how much she loved working at Paws Wellbeing Centre after joining Sarah's team in 2023.
Before that, Jan ran one of Tasmania's leading Miniature Goat farms, breeding Australian Miniature Goats and operating a Farm Tour and Accommodation business until 2020. Passionate about animals since childhood, she is dedicated to providing the best possible service and care for your dogs.
Mark Rose - Chief Home Paw
Mark has always been surrounded by dogs, considering them his "soul mate" animals. He and his wife Jan share their home with four lively Cocker Spaniels, and life at their place is a delightful blend of dogs and Mark's other passion—cars.
Mark and Jan love nothing more than driving along their favorite roads to a beautiful beach for a walk with their furry family. "It's a great way to combine my love of cars and dogs, and of course, my lovely wife Jan" says Mark.
Mark's entrepreneurial spirit ignited early. He started his first business at age 15, selling Christmas trees door-to-door. With extensive business experience under his belt, his mission is now to grow Paws Pet Care into the best organisation of its kind in New Zealand.
Sarah Stockdale - Paws Founder
Sarah grew up in a farming family and has had a lifelong love for animals.
As a teenager, she worked at a boarding kennel and cattery and showed corgis and Shetland sheepdogs.
Currently, Sarah has Sasha, a beautiful Tokenise cat with a big personality. It's Sasha who wins in the 'boss' stakes in their house!
Sarah left the corporate world to follow her passion for working with pets. She saw a real need for a comprehensive service, providing proactive health and well-being care for pets at home by a qualified team with skills, passion, and an absolute commitment to caring for animals.
Pet Minding Team
Paws at Home has a team of wonderful pet minders with vet nurse skills, animal certification, and a sincere love for animals.
They'll look after your pets when you can't, providing the care your animals need and deserve. We always organise a meet and greet prior to the first visit (no charge) so we can meet you and your pet(s) and understand their unique needs.
Paws at Home Hosts - some of our fantastic Team
Hamilton
Lenore & Pat (River Road)
We moved to Hamilton three years ago after 20 years on a lifestyle block in Springston, Christchurch, with various animals. Our chocolate Lab, Louis, moved with us but passed away from lung cancer last year.
Deciding not to get another dog, our home felt empty. Becoming home hosts with Paws at Home has filled that gap, and we enjoy meeting owners and having their dogs stay with us. Being retired gives us plenty of time to care for our doggy guests, and we love this new adventure.
Hamilton
Victoria (Horsham Downs)
Having had dogs for many years, I understand how deeply we care for them. Our large block just outside Flagstaff is perfect for medium to large-sized dogs: plenty of outdoor space for exploring and playing, a comfy home where they live as part of the family, and always plenty of attention and cuddles.
With eight years of experience with greyhounds and the Greyhounds As Pets organization, and having cared for an Airedale with special medical needs, I appreciate the trust required and how reassuring daily updates can be for owners.
Cambridge
Lindsey
Dogs have always been in my life. Since I was a young girl, our family has had dogs. I am English but have lived in New Zealand for the past 14 years. I have a 14-year-old Cavalier King Charles spaniel, Archie.
I use the services of Paws at Home for Archie. Sharon, my Pet Minder, feeds, chats, cuddles, and checks Archie, also giving him the walk he needs. I love that Sharon texts me afterwards, so I know my boy is happy and well looked after. I'm now thrilled to offer this wonderful service myself and excited to be a Home Host for Paws at Home.
West Hamilton
Corilin
I had a wonderful upbringing on a farm surrounded by many pets. As a teenager, I worked summer holidays in a boarding kennel and helped out at our local vet clinic.
We now have a 7-year-old Wire-Haired Jack Russell called Jonty, who loves racing around our lifestyle block. Jonty is an excellent swimmer and loves to cool off in our pool during summer. We also have chooks, quail, sheep, parrots, a pampered cat, and plenty of safe, stimulating space for visiting dogs to stretch their legs. I’ve always believed that our dogs are an important and beloved part of our life and should always be treated like family.
Taranaki
Katie
Passionate about animal wellbeing, I've volunteered at the SPCA, worked in a kennel and cattery, and completed a pet first aid course.
In 2022, I moved to Taranaki with my husband Dougal and our two cats, Patsy and Betsy. We also have a horse named Rain.
We offer secure, spacious play areas for small-to-medium dogs, along with plenty of love and cuddles. We treat your pets like family.
I'm excited to provide professional and trustworthy pet care services to the animals of Taranaki and their owners.
Hamilton
Marz (Home care)
When your dogs come to stay they are given lots of love and walks and are treated like my own.
Home hosting is the best thing for your dog as it is stress free. We play, walk and socialise when we can.
Being a home host is a very satisfying and rewarding job for me.
North Waikato
Jody Williams
Jody grew up surrounded by animals of all kinds and has always had a passion for caring for them. She and her husband Aaron live on a lifestyle block in West Ngaruawahia, home to a delightful mix of goats, Kunekune pigs, chickens, ducks, birds, guinea pigs, a turtle, a blue tongue skink, sheep, and calves. Aaron often discovers new furry friends that Jody has brought home!
Their family also includes four playful cats and five pampered dogs who are a big part of their lives. As the new franchise owners of Paws in the Country, Jody and Aaron are committed to ensuring that every pet in their care is loved and looked after just like their own.
Jody's area covers North Waikato from Ngāruawāhia to the border.
